4GOOD x How to Change Things: A New Home for Gathering for Good

Something is changing.. in a good way.
Since launching in 2022, 4GOOD has been building a community around one simple belief: how we gather matters. Events aren’t neutral. They shape culture, spark collaboration and can either reinforce broken systems - or help reimagine them.
Over the past three and a half years, we’ve:
Supported dozens of organisers to embed sustainability and social impact into their events
Promoted more than 600 impact-focused gatherings
Built an audience of thousands who believe in gathering for good
Now, we’re taking the next step.
Our events round-up has a new home
We’re partnering with How to Change Things, the Substack by Year Here, to publish our monthly curated events round-up there.
If you’ve followed 4GOOD for a while, you’ll know our round-ups have always been about more than listings. We curate gatherings that align with our values: sustainability, inclusivity, social justice and creativity. Spaces where ideas turn into action. Rooms where people leave feeling more connected than when they arrived.
By bringing the round-up into How to Change Things, we’re plugging events directly into a wider ecosystem of changemakers - social entrepreneurs, campaigners, funders, policy thinkers and community builders.
It means:
More visibility for impact-driven events
A bigger, values-aligned audience
A stronger bridge between ideas and action
Why this makes sense
This is not a pivot. It’s an evolution.
4GOOD was born out of Year Here. The DNA has always been shared: practical action, systems thinking, and belief in bottom-up change.
How to Change Things publishes interviews, explainers and long-view takes on social progress in the UK. Now, alongside the thinking, there’s a clear invitation to act through our monthly events round-up and their quarterly opportunities digest (featuring jobs, funding and consulting gigs for changemakers).
Because reading about change is powerful. But gathering to build it is even better.
What stays the same
We’re still:
Working with organisers to make events more sustainable and socially conscious
Championing creativity, culture and community
Believing that small, intentional actions ripple outward
The mission hasn’t changed. If anything, it’s clearer.
We want doing good to become the norm. And that happens when people come together.
If you’d like to follow the monthly events round-up, you can subscribe via How to Change Things. If you’re an organiser who wants to embed more impact into your events, we’d love to hear from you.
Let’s keep gathering for good.
